Owner Operator

Owner Operators have played an important part in NAPA's growth and will continue to play an even bigger role in our future.

Owner Operators Mileage Rate Schedule:
Detention time will be paid in accordance with the following schedule. Late arrivals void detention compensation. 

100 miles or less $2.05 per loaded mile
101 through 150 miles $1.45 per loaded mile
151 through 200 miles $1.20 per loaded mile
201 miles and up $1.00 per loaded mile
250 plus $0.95 per loaded mile
Empty miles $0.65 per dispatched mile
Toll Allowance (not including NYC) $0.05 per dispatched mile
Wicnester Shuttles Flat rate of $175.00 per round trip.
NYC tolls are paid as described later.
Shuttle trips are between New Kingston, PA and Winchester, VA.
Mileage pay not effective during shutle runs.

Stop Off Pay:
Additional pick ups and deliveries are rated at $40.00 for each pick up after the first and $40.00 for each stop-off in addition to the final destination.

Detention Pay: 
Detention is paid at a rate of $30.00 per hour after the first 2 hours, providing the arrival is on time.

NYC Bouns Pay:
Any load delivering within the file boroughs of New York or Long Island pays an additional $75 driver bonus.

Toll Reimbursement:
Tolls to get into and/or out of the five borough s of New York City and Long Island, NY when making a pick-up or delivery in NYC are reimbursed when toll receipts are submitted. There is a toll allowance of $.05 per dispatched mile as described in the Owner Operator Mileage Rate Section.

All settlements will be on a weekly basis (Fridays).

Owner operators are provided a T-Check fuel card for their added convenience.

Insurance:
Each tractor must carry Bobtail insurance. Proof of workers compensation is required if you intend to hire a driver.

NAPA's Tractor Requirements:
NAPA requires late model, three axle tractors that must pass DOT and NAPA inspections.

Owner Operator Requirements:
Current Tractor Registration and a copy of Apportioned Registration Invoice
Form 2290 showing proof of payment of Federal Highway Use Tax for the current year (If not a PA base plate, proof of proper permitting is required)
Insurance certificates for bobtail
Certificate of Worker's Compensation if the driver is not the owner
Owner's Social Security or Federal Tax ID Number

Permits and Plates:
NAPA requires a PA base plate and will assist with the expense according to the following schedule:

25% of base plate the first year
50% the second year
75% the third year
100% the fourth year and all continuous years thereafter.
If you already have a base plate and choose to keep it you may, but that will exclude you from our base plate financial assistance program.

Taxes:
Mileage and fuel taxes will be paid by NAPA Transportation, Inc. and charged back to the owner operator via our settlement process.
