March Driver of the Month
We are pleased to announce Dave Stimmell is our March Driver of the Month!
Dave has been driving for NAPA since 2016, but has been driving truck since 1993. When asked what he enjoys most about NAPA, Dave said his home time and the pay. Dave is happily married and has 3 kids. When he isn’t working, Dave enjoys riding his motorcycle, camping and working on his house.
Dave’s performance has been impressive!
- He has had no preventable accidents since he started with NAPA in April 2016
- He has had 1 HOS violation in October 2017 [ since his date of hire (violation occurred while sitting in traffic)]
- He has had no citations or violations since his date of hire
- He has zero DriveCam points during the period of January 2018-March 2018. He only had a total of 51 DriveCam points for all of 2017 [a DriveCam camera has been in his truck since his date of hire]
- He has completed all assigned ProTread lessons including the one assigned for April 2018
- He qualified for Driver of the Year 2017

February Driver of the Month
James has been in transportation for the last 11 years, 4 of which have been with NAPA. James said, “NAPA is the best company I’ve driven for.” He enjoys his home time, satellite TV and working with the employees in the office. James lives in New Hampshire and enjoys ‘hanging out’ and relaxing on his days off with his 2 step children.
James earned this achievement by not having any preventable accidents, incidents, citations or DOT violations for a full year. He also had no Hours of Service violations in the past 3 months, a DriveCam score of 0 for the same time frame, and has completed every ProTread lesson in the month that it was assigned. James was an outstanding performer in 2017, having earned a spot as one of our top five finalists for 2017 Driver of the Year!

January Driver of the Month
Frank has been driving with a CDL for the last 8 years & has worked for NAPA since July 2013. Before getting his CDL, Frank was in the Army National Guard for 8 years! (Thank you for your service Frank!!)
Frank first got into trucking when he delivered furniture- he said he loved the driving part of the job, so he decided to continue driving after he was out of the military. Frank enjoys the freedom of driving- he can stop when is needed and no one is ‘standing over his shoulder’. Frank likes working for NAPA because of the our open door policy, equipment and the customers we have. Frank appreciates that NAPA has the Driver of the Month & Driver of the Year awards and that we participate in Driver Appreciation Week.
When Frank isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and going to the gym. If you see Frank out & about, please congratulate him on a job well done!
Robert "Bob" Hudgins
2017 Driver of the Year
Bob started driving in April 2007- he got into trucking for the independence and not having someone ‘hanging over his shoulder’ all the time. He also enjoys experiencing new places while working. In 2014, Bob joined the NAPA family! Bob said he enjoys working for NAPA because we work with him when he needs to be at home & that no one bothers him- we let him do his work. When Bob isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 kids (pictured above), fishing and working around the house.
Winning the Driver of the Year award is no easy task! Bob had an impressive 2017! While exceeding our productivity goal, he had 2 clean DOT Inspections, only 1 Hours of Service violation (because he was kicked off customer property) and a DriveCam score of 14 points for the entire year (he has had a camera in his truck since 2016)!! Bob has won an engraved NAPA DOY Watch, Driver of the Year truck decal & $1500 bonus!

December Driver of the Month
We are excited to announce Michael Trapp as our December Driver of the Month! Mike has been trucking for the last 6 years, after a career in the construction industry. He says the freedom and earning potential is what led him to the open road. He has been with NAPA since August of 2016 and currently runs our dedicated HP Hood lane.
Mike and his wife Rhonda reside in Liverpool, NY and have 5 children, a son and four daughters. Mike and Rhonda also have 3 grandchildren. Mike used to race cars, but now his free time is spent outdoors. He is an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoys being in the fresh air with his family. His wife and daughters are active in their local American Cancer Society’s walks to combat Breast Cancer.
Mike says that he enjoys working at NAPA because of the open communication. He says, “You’re a name, not just a number.” Mike has had zero Hours of Service violations in the past 6 months, a DriveCam score of 0 for the past 3 months, no accidents, no CSA points, and no citations in the past year! Mike drives truck 418018, so if you bump in to him at a terminal or out on the road be sure to congratulate him!
November Driver of the Month
We are pleased to announce Ed Angland is our November Driver of the Month! Ed has been on the road for 16 years and had been with NAPA since July of 2016. He is a 3rd generation Driver, having been taught by his father and grandfather. Ed has ‘run them all’, having experience in pulling flatbeds, drop-decks, logs, and even HAZMAT.
Currently Ed and his canine companion Diesel reside in Keyser, WV. Ed has two sons David and Lucas. Having grown up on the farm, Ed is a self proclaimed ‘country boy’, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley on his off time. Ed donates regularly to his local ASPCA and to the Saint Jude’s Foundation. Ed is a military veteran, having served in the Marine Corp! Thank you for your service, Ed!
Ed said that he enjoys working for NAPA because of our open door policy and the willingness of EVERYONE to work with Drivers. Ed has had no Hours of Service violations in the past 6 months, a DriveCam score of 0 for the past 3 months, no preventable accidents as well as, zero DOT violations or citations during his tenure with NAPA. Ed drives truck 417018, so if you see him in a terminal or out on the road congratulate him on his achievement!
October Driver of the Month
We are pleased to announce that Larry Johnson is our October Driver of the Month!
Larry has been driving with NAPA since 2010 and runs locally into New York City. Before climbing into a truck, Larry worked in the shipping department for Hershey and decided that he wanted something more stable for his family. He has been a Driver now for the past 22 years; pulling everything from flatbeds, triples and doubles -even HAZMAT! Larry currently lives in Steelton, PA with his Yorkshire Terrier Zoey. He has two children, a son Tre, a daughter Tara. Larry is also a Navy veteran- thank you for your service Larry!
Larry is a ‘people helper’ and enjoys aiding others however he can. He said that he likes working for NAPA because we provide a stable home for Drivers, that NAPA invests in their Drivers and is always striving to make them better. Larry’s words of wisdom…“Keep trucking and stay safe!” If you see Larry out and about in truck 128 be sure to congratulate him on a job well done!
September Driver of the Month
We are pleased to announce the September Driver of the Month, Michael Hovanec.
Ever since he was young, Michael wanted to be a driver. While he has experience with flatbeds and step-decks, most of his driving career has been spent with vans and reefers. He, his wife Loretta, and their calico cat Miss Clarissa live in Utica, NY. When not out on the road Michael enjoys doing things around the house and taking day trips with his wife. He describes himself as your “average Joe”. He and his wife have also sponsored a girl from the Philippines for the past 6 years. Michael has been with NAPA since 2011 and enjoys the people that he works with.
Michael had no citations, incidents or accidents in the past year. No Hours of Service violations for the prior 3 months, and a DriveCam score of 2 for the past 3 months. Additionally, Michael has completing the assigned ProTread lesson every month!

August Driver of the Month
We are pleased to announce the August Driver of the Month, Cheyenne Cui.
Cheyenne was working as a waitress when her step-father encouraged her to get her CDL; the rest is history. When not driving a truck, she enjoys reading books and spending time with her children.
She loves the family atmosphere at NAPA and the willingness of her fellow NAPA drivers to lend a helping hand.
Cheyenne completed the assigned ProTread lessons every month and has had no coachable DriveCam events since the roll out of the program in August 2016!
In addition, she has had no preventable accidents, no citations no DOT violations, and no hours of service violations during the month of August.

June Driver of the Month
It is our pleasure to announce that Linda Rodriguez has been chosen as June’s Driver of the Month. Oddly enough, she began her driving career while working for a security firm. Her manager at the time jokingly mentioned that she should become a driver. Linda ran with that idea and has been driving for 4 years, the last two with NAPA. She lives with her boyfriend David and son Dimitri in Allentown, PA.
When she’s not running for our local Allentown fleet, Linda indulges in her crafty side. She loves to scrapbook and says that being artsy is a great way to relax. The consistent work and the company’s understanding and help with personal matters is what she enjoys most about NAPA.
If you see Linda in truck 955 at the terminal or riding around Jersey or Eastern PA, be sure to congratulate her on her achievement! Great job Linda and thank you for your hard work!
May Driver of the Month
It is our pleasure to announce our May Driver of the Month, Clayton Condon! Clay is a US Army Veteran with over 20 years of driving experience behind him, 6 of those years with NAPA. The freedom of the highway and being able to see different places and meet new people is what he loves most about being a driver.
Clay has two children, and lives near Delhi, New York with his girlfriend Ruthy. When he's not working, you can find him on his motorcycle. Clay recently shaved his head and donated his hair to Wigs for Kids, an organization which provides hairpieces for children suffering from hair loss.
The family atmosphere, the good equipment, and the home time are what Clay likes most about NAPA. He says he loves that everybody knows your name, you're not just a number.
Clay drives truck 417013, so if you see him at the terminal or out there on the road, congratulate him on a job well done! Congrats Clay!
April Driver of the Month
It is our pleasure to announce the April Driver of the Month, Jose Ramirez-Alicea.
Jose loves to travel and always wanted to drive a truck. For 5 years now he’s been able to do both as a professional driver. Jose and his wife, Amy, have 4 children. As a family man, he loves the family atmosphere at NAPA; he was even referred to the company by his father in law and former Driver of the Month Loren Morral. He enjoys that it’s not corporate and that his co-workers in the office know him by his name. When he’s not trucking, Jose can be found spending time with family, hunting, and fishing.
Jose drives truck 850. If you see him out on the road or on the yard be sure to congratulate him on a job well done!
March Driver of the Month
It is our pleasure to announce our March Driver of the Month, Gerald Briggs.
Gerald resides in Pawtucket, RI with his lovely wife Yamah and their 2 year old daughter, Brerse. Working previously in a warehouse loading trucks, in 2012 Gerald decided he wanted to change his station and learned to drive a truck. He loves his job at NAPA and in particular enjoys the respect he gets from everyone. It’s important to Gerald that the people he works with know him by his name and not just as a truck number. He states his Driver Manager, Jessica Bucy, is great at this and he truly enjoys being able to work with her on a daily basis.
Gerald drives truck number 132. If you see him out on the road or in one of our terminals shake his hand and congratulate him on a job well done!
February 2017 Driver of the Month
It is our pleasure to announce our February Driver of the Month, Terry Starr.
Terry hails from Rockbridge, OH where he and his wife, Sharbie, care for their granddaughter Ashlee. In their free time the family volunteers with charities focused on diabetes and in particular the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. With what time is left they follow both the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns football teams.
In 1990 Terry rode with his brother in a truck after being laid off from his regular job. He knew then the highway was calling him and has been driving ever since. He has been with NAPA since August of 2016 and loves the family atmosphere, the flexibility, the home time, and working with a Driver Manager (Adrienne Dunlap) that cares enough to tell him “thank you”.
We’re very proud to have Terry as a part of our NAPA family.
January 2017 Driver of the Month
It is our great honor to announce our January Driver of the Month, Yvan Tran.
Yvan Tran has been driving a truck for 18 years. He started as a police officer and figured that was going nowhere and decided he’d rather drive a truck. Yvan’s been with NAPA for 5 years, he loves working here because he likes the independent life style on the road while still getting home every weekend. He likes the freedom to do the job the right way and also appreciates the great equipment NAPA provides. He particularly values his relationship with our shop team in Mechanicsburg, and both sides stated their relationship works so well because they trust each other. Feeling like family and being known by his name makes working with dispatch enjoyable and it’s a big reason why Yvan loves NAPA.
2016 Driver of the Year
We are pleased to announce that Gary Fusillo has been selected as NAPA’s Driver of the Year for 2016! Gary has been with NAPA for five and a half years, and has been a professional driver for almost 40 years. During this time with NAPA, Gary has maintained an unblemished safety record and has proven to be a tremendous asset to the company. Not only was he driver of the month in June 2013, but for the last two years, Gary has completed the online Pro-Tread training, every month, without fail. December 2016 saw Gary receive yet another honor. He was chosen as the driver of the month by the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association (PMTA). This is no small feat, as hundreds of drivers are nominated. Gary is now in the running for the PMTA’s Driver of the Year, which will be announced at their banquet in March.
From the service and productivity aspect, during 2016, Gary ran in excess of 125,000 miles with an on time delivery rate above 95%. Bear in mind, all this was achieved with ZERO accidents, tickets, CSA points, motorist, or customer complaints!!
A native of Maine, Gary enjoys working and tinkering around the house and spending time with his wife of 29 years, Stella. They have one adult son and a much beloved Corgi named Kuma.
In recognition for this award, Gary will receive:
- $1500 bonus
- A custom NAPA watch
- A custom embroidered NAPA jacket
- Driver of the Year recognition on his unit
- Driver of the Year plaque
January 2016 Driver of the Month
We are happy to announce that Kris Vollbrecht is the Driver of the Month for January. He resides in Vermont.
Kris has been driving for more than 15 years and has been with NAPA for 2 years. In his free time, he is a musician; he plays the guitar, drums, and keyboards. When he can, he enjoys visiting the local library and is an active reader. He also enjoys listening to audio books while driving. Kris appreciates the family and friendly approach at NAPA and is happy he is known by his name and not a number.
February 2016 Driver of the Month
We are excited to announce that Marian Sweet is the Driver of the Month for February.
Marian has been driving since 1994 and has been with NAPA for 5 years. She has a green thumb, spending much of her free time gardening and growing flowers. Marian has worked for several other major trucking companies, but none of them have valued her and treated her as well as NAPA does. She proudly calls NAPA home.
March 2016 Driver of the Month
Steve Reynolds scored a rare double, by being at the top of both safety and operations rankings for the fleet. We are proud to announce Steve as our Driver of the Month for March.
Steve started driving at 18 years old. He enjoys riding his Harley and driving his 1969 Chevelle. He's been with NAPA since 2007, and like other Drivers of the Month, Steve loves that NAPA knows who he is and treats him like family.
April 2016 Driver of the Month
We are pleased to announce our Driver of the Month for April, Mike Manness.
From Lexington, NC, Mike has been with NAPA for more than 3 years and is one of ten drivers on the Nestle Dedicated Fleet. He is heavily involved with Meadowview Church there, and has been on many mission trips around the world. Mike is the proud father of four and has been a caring and guiding example in the lives of 10 other foster children. In his spare time Mike enjoys working with his salt water fish tanks.
To achieve this award Mike earned a perfect safety score for the month, including zero speeding events, zero hard brakes, zero hours of service violations, and best of all zero preventable accidents. He did all of this while averaging more than 2500 miles each week.

May 2016 Driver of the Month
It is my pleasure to announce our May 2016 Driver of the Month, David Allen.
David lives in Mineral Wells, WV and has been driving for NAPA Transportation for 5 years. He and his lovely wife Becky were married in 1989. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren that keep them very busy. In his free time David enjoys to get back to nature by hunting and fishing. He is a member of a local group who teach young children proper gun safety. He also keeps a shop at his home where he actively works on his Chevy 4 wheel drive trucks.
NAPA’s family atmosphere is important to David. He loves the fact that he is known by his name and isn’t a number. David also has over 3 million miles as a professional driver.

June 2016 Driver of the Month
We are proud to announce our June Driver of the Month, David Johnson! David has been with NAPA for over 4 years and has been a Professional Driver for more than 30 years. David loves to fish, but his motivation in life is driven by his love for God. He leads a Bible study in his hometown of King William, VA. David and his wife Lori also volunteer at the local Food Kitchen helping out the less fortunate.
David loves the open door policy at NAPA that allows him to ask about any issues he may have. The family atmosphere where drivers are known by their name and are not simply a driver number is also very important to him. We are excited to have drivers like David represent our family at NAPA. If you see David out and about or in the terminal shake his hand and congratulate him on a job well done!
July 2016 Driver of the Month
I am pleased to announce our July Driver of the Month, Karen Minton!
Karen lives in Bridgewater, VA and has been with NAPA for more than 6 years. She has a son, 2 granddaughters, and 2 beautiful great grandchildren. Karen’s desire to be a driver all started with her love of travel early on. As a child on family trips Karen would stay awake in the car to make sure she didn’t miss anything along the way. When she’s not safely driving for our Harrisonburg fleet, Karen enjoys the peacefulness of riding her horse, Ace.
Karen had a perfect safety score in July and averaged over 2,310 miles each week. If you see Karen on the road or at a NAPA facility congratulate her on a job well done!
August 2016 Driver of the Month
It is with great pride that I announce our August Driver of the Month, Naomi Townsend. Naomi has been driving a truck for 8 years, and has been with NAPA for 7 months having been recruited to work here by her husband, Dawon. Naomi and Dawon have 2 children. Their daughter is in her second year of college and their son is protecting our freedom as a member of the US Navy.
Trucking is a family affair with the Townsends and she credits her husband with getting her interested in the business. Naomi loves to take pictures of the countryside during her travels. She’s an avid reader and enjoys watching a good movie. Naomi and Dawon help out with the homeless in their free time and donate both time and money to St. Jude’s.

September 2016 Driver of the Month
It is our pleasure to announce our September Driver of the Month, Robert Hudgins.
Robert started his driving career 10 years ago. He loaded trucks at a beer factor, decided he wanted a better life and felt the highway was calling him. He has been with NAPA since October of 2014 and celebrates his 2 year anniversary next week. Robert, his wife Audrey and their family live in Long Island, VA. Robert and Audrey have two children, a 12 year daughter named Lilian and a 7 year old son named Thomas. When home Robert likes to take the family fishing and go to baseball games. They also work closely with their church.
Robert loves the family atmosphere at NAPA and has wonderful things to say about his Driver Manager, Adrienne Dunlap. He says it makes him feel really good when he’s called by his name and not a truck number.

October 2016 Driver of the Month
We are pleased to announce the October Driver of the Month, Warren Sumrell. Warren and his wife, Tasha, hail from New Bern, NC. They have two children; a daughter named Anna and a son named Gregory. With 15 years of driving experience under his belt Warren joined NAPA in March of 2016. He loves the family atmosphere and being known by his name and not a number. When not working he enjoys riding his motorcycle and, as a certified scuba diver, going on diving adventures. Occasionally, as Warren puts it, he’s happy to just “nerd out” and play some video games at the house.

November 2016 Driver of the Month
We are pleased to announce our November Driver of the Month, Andrew Lowcock. Andrew is originally from Scotland and began his driving career traveling all over the UK. In 1999 Andrew moved to the US and resumed his driving career stateside. He prides himself on safety and zero accidents, believing God gives him the ability to be a professional driver. Throughout his four year tenure with NAPA Andrew has proven to be most accomplished at pre trip inspection of units. It’s no surprise he lists NAPA’s equipment as one of his favorite things about working here, along with the family environment and the freedom we provide.
Andrew and his wife Sharon have 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. In his free time he helps Pastor Tony by sharing his faith with other drivers at the TCF Trucker’s Chaplain at the TA in Greensboro, NC near his home in Lexington. If you see Andrew at the terminal or on the roadway make sure to congratulate him on a job well done!
December 2016 Driver of the Month
It is our pleasure to announce that Patrick Oswald has been chosen as our December Driver of the Month. Pat began his driving career in a straight truck when he was just out of high school, and has since become a veteran driver with over 37 years of experience. Pat runs on the HP Hood dedicated fleet and has been with NAPA since October 2016. He lives with his wife Denise and children Patrick and Alexandria in Liverpool, NY. When he’s off the road, Pat enjoys golfing and listening to his children sing; his daughter will even be auditioning for “America’s Got Talent.”
Pat enjoys working with the people here at NAPA and the open lines of communication that are available for problem solving. If you see him out on the road or at a terminal (truck 454), be sure to congratulate him on this achievement!
Special Recognition by the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association
December 2016 Driver of the Month
It is our honor and privilege to announce that Gary Fusillo has been chosen as the December 2016 Driver of the Month by the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association. Gary has been a regional driver with NAPA for approximately six and a half years. During this time he has maintained an admirable and appreciated service and safety record. Gary lives in Maine, and is domiciled out of the Mechanicsburg terminal. Due to the high volume of entries, it is no small feat to achieve this recognition.
Gary will receive his certificate, lapel pin, and plaque at a banquet in March. He is also in the running for PMTA’s Driver of the Year Award, which will be announced the same evening.
We congratulate Gary on this achievement and recognize him for his dedication to service and safety.
